About This Place

Nestled in the heart of Winnipeg at 114 Market Ave, Saddlery on Market delivers a dining experience that is as rich in history as it is in flavor. Housed within a beautifully restored old saddle factory, this restaurant effortlessly blends industrial charm with a warm, inviting atmosphere, making it a perfect spot for both casual meet-ups and special occasions.

The culinary focus here is a celebration of innovative comfort food with a distinctive Canadian twist. Their menu is a delightful treasure trove of bold flavors and creative combinations that command attention. Start your experience with tantalizing starters like the Bison Nachos—richly spiced, hearty, and perfect for sharing—or the Crispy Brussels Sprouts that strike a balance between crispy texture and vibrant freshness. The charcuterie board, enhanced by a thoughtful selection of quality cheeses, meats, and complementary touches like olives and tangy grapefruit slices, offers an elegant shareable appetizer that showcases their dedication to quality and presentation.

For main courses, Saddlery on Market truly shines. Their Prime Rib served with a luscious red wine demi-glace, horseradish crème, and smooth whipped potatoes is a decadent treat that comforts and satisfies with every bite. The New York Strip and Prawns with chimichurri and Parmesan flakes is a surf-and-turf dish that perfectly marries robust, hearty flavors with the bright, herbaceous notes of chimichurri—a pairing that leaves a lasting impression. The Artisan Pizzas and Flatbreads, such as the Market Special and Pesto Chicken, balance traditional tastes with fresh, artisanal ingredients, elevating each slice beyond ordinary pizza fare.

Those craving something adventurous will appreciate the Greek Lamb Burger paired with crispy fries or the irresistible Pulled Pork Tacos, each bite offering a harmonious blend of textures and spices. Don’t overlook the decadent truffle fries—a luxurious twist on a classic side—and the deep-fried pickles, which provide a surprisingly delightful contrast of tangy crunchiness.

End your meal on a sweet note with Saddlery’s Red Velvet Cheesecake, which delivers a smooth, velvety texture and rich chocolate undertones, though some guests have noted variability in dessert freshness. For beverage lovers, the Flight of Beer offers an excellent sampling of local brews, perfect for pairing with the menu’s bold elements.

The attentive, friendly staff add to the overall enjoyable experience, although there have been some remarks about service speed during quieter times, a small quirk in an otherwise well-orchestrated dining experience. The ambiance, characterized by tasteful decor that pays homage to the building’s industrial heritage, creates a unique and memorable backdrop that elevates the enjoyment of every meal.

Many patrons have praised Saddlery on Market for making their special occasions truly exceptional—the space’s versatility and the team’s dedicated service genuinely stand out, creating lasting memories beyond just the food.

If you’re looking for a restaurant where thoughtfully curated dishes meet a welcoming vibe and a rich sense of place, Saddlery on Market is a destination worth exploring. Whether for a hearty dinner, a casual pizza night, or even an intimate celebration, it promises a flavorful and authentic Winnipeg dining experience that lingers in both palate and heart.

Nice place with tasty food. But the waiter was really slow while serving (even despite the fact there were only 2 tables occupied), there was no cider and they did not have ingrediends for tropical cocktail. Also serving of the dessert was really strange, cake was not fresh and hard to bite.

The Charcuterie board was pretty good, came with some bread peices, 3 types of cheese, 3 types of meat, some Grapefruit slices, good quality mustard, oil and honey. Olives were $5 extra. Yam fries and pizza's were good. People seemed to enjoy the burgers. The fries were not very popular, maybe if they were cut differently? They had shoe string fries that were a little over done. They could have used more salt or seasoning salt which wasn't available on the tables... Friends seemed to like the drinks.

I liked this place. It was not super busy when I visited but still quite a few folks. The staff were very nice and the food was good. The decor was kinda neat. It is literally located in an old saddle factory. So the place has a bit of that old factory vibe. The decor was tasteful and a bit understated. I definitely would go again.

My partner and I recently had our wedding ceremony and reception at Saddlery on Market and we couldn’t be more pleased with the turn out. The most special day of our lives was made possible with the help of Roula and her amazing team. Roula was responsive in the days leading up to the event and decorated the venue beautifully. The food was great. Jack the bartender/waiter was so friendly with every encounter which helped make Saddlery feel like home. Thank you helping make our day so special! We highly recommend this venue for a wedding or special event.

The Saddlery is one of my go-to spots whenever I'm downtown and looking for a bite to eat. The restaurant is very spacious and has a great atmosphere. The brussel sprouts are fantastic, probably my favourite in the city (so far)! You also cannot go wrong with those bison nachos. The lamb burger was a little dry for my liking but the bison mac burger is great (albeit super messy). It's always hard to decide what to order!

We just had our wedding reception here! From start to finish, the staff made everything super easy. Did all my decorating, made it look amazing! The food is incredible and huge portions, every single person loved the food. The pricing is also amazing. Not a single complaint. Also, the bathrooms are large and gorgeous.
